The pandemic has been a game-changer for the education industry, be it in terms of providing an impetus for digitization, or bringing into focus the need to reimagine teaching methods and pedagogies to adjust and adapt to different circumstances. It can be safely concluded that the pandemic has ushered in a radical transformation in the education sector, not just in India but around the world.
With approximately 500 million people in the 5-24 years age bracket, India is poised for a significant revolution in the education sector, which is estimated to be worth US$ 101.1 Billion in FY19. The dynamic nature of the current education scenario has further accelerated the growth of other sectors within the learning ecosystem. The Indian EdTech market, which has seen a boom in the face of the pandemic, is estimated to reach US$4 Billion by 2025. India has also risen to become the second largest market for e-learning after the US, and the sector is set to reach US$2.28 Billion between 2021 and 2025.
The government’s vision of a digital India which charted the way forward with the NEP 2020, along with launching several new opportunities in the education sector, has created a symbiotic and unique partnership between technology partners and the learning sector.
The Education and Skill Development India Convention 2023 will witness the participation of some of the best thought-leaders in the education and EdTech industries as they discuss and dissect how the pandemic has impacted and transformed education in India.
